The clients garden sloped steeply away from the house which restricted the family from playing sports on the lawn.  The owners were keen to use that garden more and so their prime requirement was to have a flat lawn but also to change the focus of the garden away from the the far corner which they saw as a difficulty point to disguise.

We utilised the slope of the garden to add interest into the garden by creating a raised lawn which from one end of the garden you stepped down onto whilst from the far end of the garden you stepped up onto.  A pergola at the far end of the garden over a hardwood deck provides height into the garden and a focal point for the eye.  The block paved path snakes around the raised lawn and encourages movement.
